Melissa Carroll, a Lancaster County native, was captivated at a young age by a relative’s “tube paints”—and subsequent gift of new art supplies. She started oil painting as a child, attending private lessons from her professional artist/neighbor. As a young student, she entered local shows and had early experience with commissions and volunteer creative projects. Melissa graduated from York Academy of Arts (now PA College of Art & Design) as a Fine Artist. She continued to paint and as a young mother, supplemented her income as a graphic designer and photographer. These days, painting is the passion and you will find her out painting “en plein air,” organizing shows, completing commissions, as well as working in her studio. Her work reflects the beauty of nature, breath-taking scenes and positive emotions.
